Polly Rallies
POG Autumn Rally, Peterborough Society of Model Engineers - September 2009
Peterborough SME kindly agreed to host our Autumn Rally and AGM. The AGM was held first and was over quickly (12 minutes - we must to better next time!) and the rally commenced soon afterwards. The weather on the Saturday was glorious while the Sunday was a lot cooler. The track at Peterborough is very well laid and winds its way round a walled garden of fruit trees. This makes a delightful setting and the fish and chip supper on the lawn was a nice way to round off the Saturday. Sunday was quieter but those who were there enjoyed themselves hauling passengers and it was nice to see Stephen Jakeman's Polly VI on its second run since completion. Many thanks to Terry and Irene who looked after us so well and provided a wonderful ploughman's lunch. Thanks to Peterborough SME for making us so welcome. An engraved plate was given to them as a thank you for having us.

Polly Owners Group Rally, Nottingham Society of Model and Experimental Engineers - July 2008
On July 5th and 6th the first rally of 2008 was held at NSMEE. Despite the dismal weather forecast the day was bright and sunny, in fact the only rain we had was during the BBQ and we were able to go inside! The Nottingham Society track is raised level for 5”g and covers a distance of about 2300 feet giving a nice run over gradients of 1 in 80. Over 20 Polly’s ran during the weekend and a good deal of discussion and exchanging of ideas took place. Thank you to NSMEE for hosting the event and making us so welcome.
Below is a gallery of the event which, judging by the smiles in the photos, everyone enjoyed!

French Polly Rally, Vapeur à Barnac - June 2008
The weekend of 7th and 8th June 2008 saw the French Polly Rally take place hosted by the European Polly Agent Geerlig Voogd. The track is near Montcuq and is very interesting to drive having gradients of 1 in 50 and 1 in 24 and sharp curves. A BBQ was held on the Saturday night followed by night running.
Five British Polly’s made their way across the Channel to take part including Nick Moody’s locomotive which had its inaugural run.
Thank you to Geerlig and Judy for inviting us and feeding us so well on the Saturday night!
